Guitar Hero is a video game series developed by Harmonix Music Systems and published by RedOctane, in which players use a guitar-shaped game controller to simulate playing lead, bass guitar, and rhythm guitar across numerous rock music tracks.
The DS version of Guitar Hero was released in 2008 and was developed by Vicarious Visions. It features a unique guitar grip peripheral that attaches to the DS, allowing players to simulate playing guitar by pressing fret buttons and strumming a pick-shaped stylus.
The game includes over 20 popular rock tracks and allows players to customize their character and guitar as they progress through the game's career mode. It also features multiplayer modes for up to two players using a single cartridge.
While the DS version of Guitar Hero is not as advanced as its console counterparts, it remains a popular and unique adaptation of the rhythm game genre.
